This is my music magazine Questionaire that i gave out to 10 people to fill out.

Research and Planning: contents page anaylsis

 GENRE 

-The genre of this magazine is pop I know its this genre because the artists that are mentioned and the images.

TARGET AUDIENCE

- the target audience is teenage girls I know this because of the bright girly colours, the story's , the images and the altogether look just catches young girls eyes and make them want to read it.

LAYOUT

-The layout is in 3 columns each column has images and shows the contents of the magazine with pages and page numbers

-there's loads of different text styles and different sizes , the biggest text on the page is the title 'inside the mag' and the page numbers.

-the images are dotted around the page and make the contents page better to look at 

REPRESENTATION

- The images are bold and bright and  are of famous bands like 'one direction' who are smiling and wearing stylish clothes also the layout is very different which makes it more appealing. both these points represent the magazine as fun, interesting to read and full of good storys.

MEDIA LANGUAGE

-The images used are medium close ups and mid shots

-theres a main title and subheadings

my target audience for my music magazine is-

Age 
my age group is going to be teenagers  , the reason for this is because this is the age group which likes the music genre 'RnB' and 'Pop'

Gender
 my magazine is aimed at girls because its going to mention a lot about boy bands and going to be girly colours and stuff that boys wont really want to read.

Occupation 
my audience is aimed at high school students and maybe the start of college

Class
my magazine will be aimed at middle class and working class because they will be the ones that want to read about the gossip  unlike upper class also because of the price of the magazine.

Wealth 
the magazine will be about £1.50 because its aimed at teenagers and i've got to make sure they can afford it.

Interests 
my interests of the target audience will be music, gossip, boys and of course the music types 'RnB' and 'Pop'


Outlook for future
in the future my target audience might go into higher education or because its a music magazine might be interested in getting a job to do with music.


How you going to reach them
 to attract them i'm going to use girly colours like pink, purple and the front cover is going to have interesting stories  so the target audience wants to read more.

I was under decided between RnB and pop but after researching both genres Ive decided to go with the genre RnB.

I chose the first idea then just added to it  , this was my favorite one as it suits my genre the best and it looks more eye catching.

 i have choosen the name 'Beat' for my music magazine , in photoshop i produced  different ways of writing the masthead by using different fonts and colours. i did quite a few ideas so i can pick the one i like the best.

The magazine top of the pops is the genre 'pop' you can tell this not only by the name but the images relate to pop artists and also the text is all very bold ,eye catching and are all stories are to do with the pop genre.
the medium close up on the picture is 'jessie j' a well known pop artist shes dressed very cool and the sort of style you would expect on a pop magazine she being represented very happy so it'll make people want to buy the magazine . the colours are all very bright making the magazine stand out.

i think the magazine is targeted at young girls because it has pictures of boys and includes text like 'whos the fittest' and 'summers hottest trends'

The  music magazine im looking at is the genre RnB i know this because  the picture on the front is a mid to long shot of the artist 'ciara' whos wearing fashinable clothes and has  an on trend hairstyle, everything that comes to mind when you think of RnB , i also know the genre is RnB  because the stories that are mentioned include people like young jeezy another well know artist.

looking at the colours and text there bold and stand out which is very appealing to the eye, the music magazine doesnt stick to 3 colours it has about 6.

i think the target audience is teenagers as it uses language like 'hot' and using the number 2 instead of the word,also people who like RnB music it will be targeted to them.
